- Patient selection by treating dentist
– determine patient suitability, cost ($800 – $1200), procedure type, time required
2. Sedation information pack to be given to patient by admin
– medical history form (get patient to fill on the spot)
– sedation information and consent
– pre op and post op instructions
– Instructions for escort
3. Phone consultation by IV sedationist
– Email me (brisbanedentalsedations@gmail.com) and after handing out a sedation pack and specify what treatment is planned and how long it will take.
– Patient will be called for a phone consult. All instructions will be discussed with patients.
4. Sedationist to call/email practice if patient is suitable for IV sedation
– Your practice will receive an email of available dates. After which appointment can be arranged with patient and confirmed with us.
5. Patient makes payment to me directly prior to dental treatment
– receipt will be given to patient to claim private health fund rebate.
6. Phone call/text message to the patient by sedationist on the day before IV sedation procedure
– The patient is asked to come 30 mins before their appointment with the dentist for sedationist to set up and get ready.
– Recovery time can be variable so another surgery for the dentist to continue their list is the ideal. If this is not possible, a recovery area that is private that the patient can be moved into is preferred.
